Wittmeier Oil & Gas Engineering has a portfolio of onshore and offshore projects with significant resource potential. The company holds non-operating and predominately carried interests in 5 offshore and 1 onshore license in Namibia. In Colombia, historic work includes drilling of a test well to evaluate the unconventional resource potential at VMM-37 by ExxonMobil.
Our Namibia Projects
Provides unique and strategic exposure to both offshore and onshore projects in Namibia, the next world class hydrocarbon province. Two of the blocks are directly adjacent to Venus-1 (Total) and Graff-2 (Shell) and two blocks are directly adjacent to the Kudu Gas field, Namibia’s first offshore gas discovery being developed by BW Energy. The Onshore licence is located 40 miles from block being developed by ReconAfrica - initial technical work supports extension into our block.
Offshore Namibia
PEL 83 is home to the world class Mopane discovery estimated to contain 10+ billion barrels of oil in-place. PEL 90 is adjacent to the Venus-1 Superfan oil discovery. PEL 87 contains one of the largest sub-sea fan complexes identified in Africa – “Saturn Superfan”. PEL 79 directly offsets the massive Kudu Gas Field.
The Middle Magdalena Basin
The Middle Magdalena Basin is located in north-central Colombia between the Central and Eastern Ranges of the Andes covering an area of 34,000 square kilometres (13,000 sq mi). The basin is an important producer of oil in Colombia producing from reservoirs in the Colorado, Mugrosa, Esmeraldas and La Paz formations. Secondary reservoirs include the Lisama and La Luna formations.
Unconventional in Colombia
The emerging Unconventional Shale Play in the Magdalena Basin has the potential to produce a multi billion barrel oil discovery.
